STAGE LEFT THEATER
Music by Jeanine Tesori. Book and Lyrics by Lisa Kron
Directed by Troy Nickerson & Jeremy Whittington
Based on the Graphic Novel by Alison Bechdel. Winner of five 2015 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Fun Home is a refreshingly honest, wholly original musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes. When her father dies unexpectedly, graphic novelist Alison dives deep into her past to tell the story of the volatile, brilliant, one-of-a-kind man whose temperament and secrets defined her family and her life. Moving between past and present, Alison relives her unique childhood playing at the Bechdel Funeral Home, her growing understanding of her own sexuality, and the looming, unanswerable questions about her father's hidden desires.

Once upon a time, the young prince Pippin longs to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfilment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, he finds it in the simple pleasures of home and family. Pippin received the Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Revival of a Musical in 2013.

Emma Pace delivers books by horseback to the Appalachian Mountain folk of Kentucky. On this wickedly cold and damp November day Emma is called out to deliver books to The Reverend Mr. Cahill, a man she thought lay buried within her troubled past. This One-Woman show is infused with the spirit of the Mountains as embodied in music and myth. Minister of Sorrow is a powerful story of retribution, redemption and grace.
