Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at admin@StageLeftTheater.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes (and some No)

All actors who perform on our main stage productions are paid a small stipend to cover gas and parking. Additionally, performers share in a Tip Pool collected during the run of their show and split evenly after closing night.

Festival performances are unpaid, though we sometimes receive grants that allow us to pay cast and crew members.

Yes (and some No)

All Main Stage shows produced will be contracted between Stage Left Theater and the playwright.

Select playwright festivals are contracted as well (Masterpiece Monologues, and additional Special Event productions.)

Some of our festivals are volunteer submissions and are not paid at this time (Fast & Furious, Playwright's Playground, and Kids' Korner.)

Yes!

We consider plays from anywhere in the world. Some of our playwright festivals are only for regional (Pacific Northwest) or local (Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area), but most of our work is not limited by geography.

We produce plays of any length, from one-page scripts (Fast & Furious) to full-length plays (productions in our Main Stage Season).

We are not currently accepting new musicals.

Submissions should contain page count and cast size on the cover page of your submission.

Your file (pdf or doc) should be labeled with the title of your play followed by your name (ie: "MyAwesomeShow_JWhittington.pdf" or "MyStory_JeremyWhittington.doc")

You may choose to add a brief description of the play on the cover as well-- Exciting us with the theme of your play entices us to read yours first!

Audition notices are posted on our Facebook page 2-6 weeks before the audition. Currently, some auditions are in-person, while others require a short video recording being sent in. If auditioning by email, please send your video to Audition.StageLeft@gmail.com.

Most of our productions have simple "Click this Button" directions to purchase tickets. Our festivals that stream online are free and can be found on our Facebook page.

If you need assistance with ticketing, or have questions for us, please email Joy Wood at BoxOffice.StageLeft@gmail.com or call 509-838-9727
