Alick is lost in the underground of an amusement park in 1963 where he meets a cast of strange characters including a washed-up old princess and a sarcastic donkey. He embarks on a journey through the dark underbelly and discovers who he is.
Content Advisory: mild profanity, depictions of heavy alcohol use, mature themes, and use of prop weapons

Rehearsals will take place Monday-Thursday from 6-10pm with likely Saturday daytime rehearsals (based on actor schedules), as needed. Rehearsals and performances will be at Stage Left Theater. Performances run November 6-22, 2026.
For this show, the actors get a $50 stipend and will share equally in the Artist Appreciation / Production Tip Pool collected during the run of the show - paid out to cast and run crew after the final performance.
Character Breakdown:
- TEL – (Male, 15-18 years old) A headstrong, thoughtful, yet misguided Black young man.
- CRUNCH – (Male, 15-18 years old) A Black or biracial young man. A follower coming into his own.
- DÉDRA – (Female, mid 20s -late 30s) A Black woman. A warrior for her community.
- LENARD – (Male, 30s-early 40s) A Black man of thirty. A dreamer who forgot how to dream.
- MISS PENNY– (Female, 50s - 60s+) A Black woman. Vulnerable when she chooses to be, and firm when she needs to be. Ever the voice of reason for those she loves.
Content Advisory for Auditioners: Strong language, including use of racial slurs; the script also includes a monologue depicting gun violence and police brutality against a Black teenager. Sides for cold readings will be chosen thoughtfully by the director, but feel free to reach out in advance if you'd like more information.

Festival participation is performed Reader's Theatre style (no memorization) and is designed to be a lower time commitment at the theater.
Rehearsals will take place based on actor and director schedules. Rehearsals will take place at Stage Left and partnering rehearsal spaces, and performances will be at Stage Left Theater. Performances run October 23-25, 2026.
For this show, all actors, directors, and run crew are considered "volunteer without stipend", but they will share equally in the Artist Appreciation / Production Tip Pool collected during the run of the show - paid out to cast and run crew after the final performance.
