The 2025 Kaleidoscope Festival comes to Spokane, WA, hosted by Stage Left Theatre at the Magnuson Theater at Gonzaga University February 13 – 15! This biennial event is part of the programming of the Washington State Community Theatre Association (WSCTA), a collection of community theater organizations from across the state. Theaters from all over Washington will converge on Spokane for this fun-filled community theater festival and competition.
This year's festival will include the following theaters' productions from across Washington State:
• Bright Comet Theatre: Lord of the Flies
• Theatre33: Constellations
• Resonance Studio Theatre: The Case of the Crushed Petunias
• Richland Players: Fool for Love

The festival will culminate in a special presentation of Antoine N'Wandu's PASS OVER, which won the 2023 Kaleidoscope Festival, the AACT Region IX Festival, and the national AACTfest 2023 in Louisville, Kentucky. The Pass Over troupe has been invited to participate in MONDIAL DU THEATRE 2025 (Theatre WorldFest) in Monaco in August, and this special presentation will serve as the first fundraiser for the travel expenses!

To tell stories, build community, and pursue equity through the production of new and existing theatrical works.
Stage Left Theater is founded on the belief that live theater provides a mechanism for interpersonal interaction not provided by television and movies, should be a force for political, intellectual and social stimulation, and should be relevant to the daily lives of the audience and the players. We seek to broaden the involvement of the general population by engaging issues of topical value and stimulating the analysis and discussion of the structure and goals of society.
Stage Left Theater Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in the state of Washington. It was founded in December, 2011 with the goal of providing an alternative theater experience in Spokane. Our current venue, formerly a retail space, was purchased in January, 2012, by Stage Left Properties LLC, and was renovated to serve as a theater. This work was completed in early 2013, whereupon it was leased to Stage Left Theater Association. We produce 5-6 Main Stage Productions, artistic festivals, and special events.
Book, music, and lyrics by Jacob Richmond & Brooke Maxwell
Directed by Holland Jones
In a dilapidated warehouse at an abandoned amusement park, an aging mechanical fortune-teller –The Amazing Karnak– comes to life, bringing with him a ghostly choir of six deceased high-schoolers tragically killed on the park’s infamous roller coaster: The Cyclone. Now, Karnak has the power to return one of these youths to life, but they must decide among themselves who is most worthy of a second chance to “ride the cyclone.” Full of zany, vaudeville-style numbers, Ride the Cyclone is a gritty, unsettling, thrilling comedy!
