Stage Left Theater is founded on the belief that live theater provides a mechanism for interpersonal interaction not provided by television and movies, should be a force for political, intellectual and social stimulation, and should be relevant to the daily lives of the audience and the players. We seek to broaden the involvement of the general population by engaging issues of topical value and stimulating the analysis and discussion of the structure and goals of society.
Stage Left Theater Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in the state of Washington. It was founded in December, 2011 with the goal of providing an alternative theater experience in Spokane. Our current venue, formerly a retail space, was purchased in January, 2012, by Stage Left Properties LLC, and was renovated to serve as a theater. This work was completed in early 2013, whereupon it was leased to Stage Left Theater Association. We produce 5-6 Main Stage Productions, artistic festivals, and special events.
Written by William Shakespeare
Directed by Nike Imoru
A brave Scottish general named MacBeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the Scottish throne for himself. He is then wracked with guilt and paranoia. Forced to commit more and more murders to protect himself from enmity and suspicion, he soon becomes a tyrranical ruler. The bloodbath and consequent civil war swiftly take Macbeth and Lady MacBeth into the realms of madness and death.
