To tell stories, build community, and pursue equity through the production of new and existing theatrical works.
Stage Left Theater is founded on the belief that live theater provides a mechanism for interpersonal interaction not provided by television and movies, should be a force for political, intellectual and social stimulation, and should be relevant to the daily lives of the audience and the players. We seek to broaden the involvement of the general population by engaging issues of topical value and stimulating the analysis and discussion of the structure and goals of society.
Stage Left Theater Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in the state of Washington. It was founded in December, 2011 with the goal of providing an alternative theater experience in Spokane. Our current venue, formerly a retail space, was purchased in January, 2012, by Stage Left Properties LLC, and was renovated to serve as a theater. This work was completed in early 2013, whereupon it was leased to Stage Left Theater Association. We produce 4-5 Core Stage Productions as well as artistic festivals, and special events.
NOVEMBER 7-23
Written by Larissa FastHorse
Directed by Misty Shipman
Good intentions collide with absurd assumptions in Larissa FastHorse's wickedly funny satire, as a troupe of terminally woke teaching artists scrambles to create a pageant that somehow manages to celebrate both Turkey Day and Native American Heritage Month.
